Some friends self publish a calendar of their dogs (4 Newfies and a Basset Hound) and this study was done from that.

I needed a few sessions to complete this one. It was the first time I tried to depict fur and work in very dark tones with pencil. There were a lot of interesting structural differences from what I had learned in a human face and enough similarities that go to prove how useful anatomical knowledge is.
